Angles and unkown terms
We can see that the three angles side by form a complete circle. This means that they form together a 360º angle:
(x + 91º) + (x + 93º) + 2x = 360º
We are going to use this equation to find x.
Finding x
Step 1: combining like terms
We simplify the equation, adding all the terms that can be added:
(x + 91º) + (x + 93º) + 2x = 360º
↓
x + 91º + x + 93º + 2x = 360º
↓ since 91º + 93º = 184º
x + x + 2x + 184º = 360º
↓ since x + x + 2x = 4x
4x + 184º = 360º
Step 2: solving the equation
Using the equation that we found, we find x leaving it "alone" on the left side:
4x + 184º = 360º
↓ taking 184º to the right side
4x = 360º - 184º
↓ since 360º - 184º = 176º
4x = 176º
↓ taking 4 to the right side
x = 176º/4
x = 44º
Answer: the value of x is 44º
