1) Let's sketch this out, so we can better understand this:

2) Given all that information, we can write out the following equation:


TV=TU+UV

And then plug into that the given values:


\begin{gathered} 3x=x+x+1 \\ 3x=2x+1 \\ 3x-2x=1 \\ x=1 \end{gathered}

Note that we've used the Addition Segment Postulate. And then we found out the value of x, i.e. the length of TU as above depicted.

3) Hence, the answer to the numerical length of TU is 1
