Solution

We are given the two points

(5,3)and(4,5)

We want to find the slope

Note: Formula for slope

Given two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), then the slope m is given as

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Here

\begin{gathered} x_1=5 \\ y_1=3 \\ x_2=4 \\ y_2=5 \end{gathered}

Substituting into the formula

\begin{gathered} m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \\ m=(5-3)/(4-5) \\ m=(2)/(-1) \\ m=-2 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the slope is

m=-2
