Solution:

The shape of the playground is a triangle.

\text{ Area of a trinage= }(1)/(2)\text{ x base x height }

For this question, base = 18yd

Height = 4 1/3 yd

It's area therefore is

\begin{gathered} A\text{ = }(1)/(2)\text{ x 18 x 4}(1)/(3) \\ A=(1)/(2)\text{ x 18 x }\frac{\text{13}}{3} \\ A\text{ = }(234)/(6) \\ A=39yd^2 \end{gathered}

The area of th playground is 39 square yards
