Solution

For this case we can do the following:

A. Ha: mu >6, alpha= 0.05, n= 11

df= 11-1= 10

t_crit= 1.812

B. Ha: mu <6, alpha= 0.05, n= 17

df= 17-1= 16

t_crit= -1.746

C. Ha: mu != 6, alpha= 0.05, n= 23

df= 23-1= 22

t_crit= +2.073 and -2.073

D. Ha: mu != 6, alpha= 0.10, n= 9

df= 9-1= 8

t_crit= +1.859 and 1.859

E. Ha: mu > 6, alpha= 0.01, n= 14

df= 14-1= 13

t_crit= 2.650
