SOLUTION

Step1: write out the given parameters

\begin{gathered} n=22 \\ \bar{x}=31 \\ s=5 \end{gathered}

The Z score for 80% confidence interval is 1.82

Step2: Write out the formula for the margin of error

\begin{gathered} \text{ The Margin of error=z}*\frac{s}{\sqrt[]{n}} \\ z=1.82,s=5,n=22 \\ \end{gathered}

Step3: Substitute the parameters into the formula

\begin{gathered} \text{The margin of error =1.82}*\frac{5}{\sqrt[]{22}}=1.82*(5)/(4.69)=1.82*1.07 \\ \\ \text{The margin of error=1.82}*1.07=\pm1.94 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the margin of error is 1.94
