Diego and Amit were trying to solve the equation:X^2– 8x = 1Diego said, "I can solve by completing the square. If I add 16 to each side, I can rewrite the equation as(x - 4)2 = 17Amit said, "I'll subtract 1 from each side and rewrite the equation as x^2 – 8x – 1= 0. Then I'll use thequadratic formula with a = 1,b= -8, and C = -1."Whose solution strategy would work?

Diego

x^2 - 8x = 1

x^2 - 8x + 16 = 1 + 16

(x - 4)^2 = 17

Amit

x^2 - 8x = 1

x^2 - 8x - 1 = 1 - 1

x^2 - 8x - 1 = 0

Both are correct
