Given the function

g(x)=\log _2(x+4)-1

Graphing

1. Vertical Asymptote: A vertical line telling us that we cannot have any points touching that line.

So, according to the graph the red vertical line is the vertical asymptote for this function.

Answer: vertical asymptote is x = -4

2. The x-intercept is the point of intersection with the x-axis. In this case, the x-intercept is (-2, 0).

The y-intercepts are what you get when you set x = 0. So, y-intercept is the point (0,1).

Answer:

x-intercept = (-2,0)

y-intercept = (0,1)

1) Vertical Asymptote: (Name the equation of the asymptote and tell me how you found-example-1
