If four times a number is increased by 15, the result is three less than six times the number. Find the number.

__________________________________________________

four times a number (4x)

is increased by 15 (+15)

three less than six times the number (6x-3)

_____________________

4x + 15= 6x -3

___________________

6x-4x = 15 +3

2x = 18

x= 18/2

x= 9

_______________________

Answer= the number is 9
