Since the rate is the same, we can solve this problem by applying the rule of three:


\begin{gathered} 414\text{ dollars ---- 18 hours} \\ x\text{ ---------- 13 hours} \end{gathered}

Then, x is equal to


\begin{gathered} x=((414)(13))/(18) \\ x=(5382)/(18) \\ x=299 \end{gathered}
