Solution

2a.

Let the total number of tablespoons of sugar that filled the bowl be T

Initially, the bowl weighs 340 grams. After putting some T tablespoon of weighs 12.5 grams, the new weight W of the ceramic sugar bowl is;

=> W = 350 + 12.5 T

2b.

When the sugar bowl is full, it weighs 740 grams.

Meaning if W = 740,

=> 740 = 350 + 12.5 T

=> 740 - 350 = 12.5 T

=> 390 = 12.5 T

=> T = 390/12.5 = 31.2

The number of tablespoons of sugar that the bowl can hold is about 31

SInce number of spoons must be a whole number.
