The length of the hypotenuse in an isosceles right triangle is 9√2m. What isthe length of a leg?

Since the right triangle is isosceles, its legs have the same length.

So using the variable x to represent the leg, we can calculate it using Pythagorean theorem:


\begin{gathered} (9\sqrt[]{2})^2=x^2+x^2 \\ 2x^2=81\cdot2 \\ x^2=81 \\ x=9 \end{gathered}

So the length of each leg is 9 m.
