A student needs 6.4 liters of a 0.64 molar solution for an experiment. How many grams of solute does the student need if the molar mass of the solute is 11.83 g/mol? Round your answer to the nearest 0.01, and remember to include units (properly abbreviated), BUT NOT THE SUBSTANCE

Multiplying the liters of solution by the concentration we obtain the moles of solute:

n=6.4L\cdot0.64M=4.096\text{moles of solute}

Now, multiply these moles by the molar mass:

4.096\text{moles}\cdot\frac{11.83g}{\text{mol}}=48.46g

There are 48.46g needed.
