We are given the following equation:

14^(7-7v)=42

To solve for "v" we will take logarithms on both sides:

\log 14^(7-7v)=\log 42

Applying logarithm property:

(7-7v)\log 14=\log 42

Dividing both sides by "log 14":

7-7v=(\log 42)/(\log 14)

Subtracting 7 to both sides:

-7v=(\log 42)/(\log 14)-7

Dividing by -7 both sides

v=-(1)/(7)(\log 42)/(\log 14)+1

Solving the operations:

v=0.79
