1. Suppose you are taking a school bus that gets7 miles per gallon. If you will be driving 154 miles,how many gallons of gas will you need ?

1) In this question, we need to assume that the number of gallons of gas per mile is constant.

2) Thus, we can write out the following proportion:


\begin{gathered} 1-----7miles \\ g------154 \\ (1)/(g)=(7)/(154) \\ 7g=154 \\ (7g)/(7)=(154)/(7) \\ g=22 \end{gathered}

So, we can state that I will need 22 gallons of gas to make 154 miles.
