A rectangular field is 50 meters wide and 90 meters long. Give the length and Width of another field that had the same perimeter but a smaller area.

Step 1: Find the Area of the given rectangle


\begin{gathered} A_{\text{rectangle}}=\text{length }* width \\ \text{length}=90m;\text{ width= 50m} \\ A_{\text{rectangle}}=90m*50m \\ =4500m^2 \end{gathered}

Step 2: Randomly give length and width that will have the same perimeter but a smaller area


\text{Let the new length be 100m and width be 40m}
\begin{gathered} A_{\text{rectangle}}=100m*40m \\ =4000m^2 \end{gathered}

Hence, the given new dimension is 40m wide and 100m long
