They want to determine the stray cat population in a local city. The researchers tagged 80 cats . Later, they counted 750 cats. The 750 cats that were counted about 40 was already tagged. The estimated number of cats in the city can be computed below

Number of Tagged cat = 80

The amounted later counted = 750

Out of the 750 cats counted, 40 cats were already tagged.

Therefore,

total population of the cats in the city = 750 + (80 - 40) = 750 + 40 = 790 cats
