In parallelogram ABCD, diagonals AC and BD intersect at E. IF BE = 4x - 12 and DE = 2 x + 8, find s.

Given data

*BE = 4x - 12

*DE = 2x + 8

At the point of intersection AC and BD, "x" is exactly split into halves.

Therefore


DE=EB

Substitute the values in the above expression as


\begin{gathered} 2x+8=4x-12 \\ 2x-4x=-12-8 \\ -2x=-20 \\ x=(-20)/(-2) \\ x=10 \end{gathered}

Thus, the value of x equals to 10
