Probably she uses this formula:


(2)/(3)*(1)/(3)=(2+1)/(3)=(3)/(3)=1

But this is incorrect, if you want to multiply fractions you need to use this formula:


(a)/(b)*(c)/(d)=(a* c)/(b* d)

Therefore:


(2)/(3)*(1)/(3)=(2*1)/(3*3)=(2)/(9)
