Half-life its the time needed for 50% of an specific amount of atoms to decay, so if we have 10 atoms of X atom, after a half life we will have 5 atoms for this specific X atom

For our question we have 8 atoms of Mercury 207, after the half life we will have 4 atoms of Mercury 207
