To multiply decimals :

First, multiply like a whole number:

295 * 13 = 3835

Second, count the decimal places of each number:

29.5 -- 1 decimal place

1.3 ----- 1 decimal place

1 decimal place + 1 decimal place = 2 decimal places

Finally, put the same number of places behind the decimal in the product:

3835 to decimal places 38.35

Therefore, the result of 29.5 * 1.3 = 38.35
