ANSWER:

2.1 meters

Explanation:

Given:

Distance of car (do) = 7.49 m

Focal length (f) = 1.64 m

We use the lens equation:

(1)/(d_o)+(1)/(d_i)=(1)/(f)

We substitute the values and solve for di which is the distance of the image

\begin{gathered} (1)/(7.49)+(1)/(d_i)=(1)/(1.64) \\ \\ (1)/(d_i)=(1)/(1.64)-(1)/(7.49) \\ \\ (1)/(d_i)=0.47624 \\ \\ d_i=(1)/(0.47624) \\ \\ d_i=2.1\text{ m} \end{gathered}

The distance of the car image is 2.1 meters
