We have the formula of the perimeter

P=296=2l+2w

where

l=length

w=width

l=3+4w

the equation of the perimeter is

2(3+4w)+2w=296

then we need to clear w

\begin{gathered} 6+8w+2w=296 \\ 10w=296-6 \\ 10w=290 \\ w=(290)/(10) \\ w=29 \end{gathered}

for the length

l=3+4(29)=119

l=119 ft

w=29ft
