Equation of the line is given in the form

y =mx + b

Where

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

The slope of this line is 1/2.

We know,

parallel lines have equal slope.

Thus, the new line will be of the form:

y=(1)/(2)x+b

Checking the equations,

first one would have 2 as slope

second one would have -2 as slope

Re-arranging the 3rd option:

\begin{gathered} x-2y=2 \\ 2y=x-2 \\ y=(x-2)/(2) \\ y=(1)/(2)x-1 \end{gathered}

This has the same form we are looking for. Thus,

Correct Answer is

x-2y=2
