A refrigerator is 3 ft wide, 2.5 ft deep,and 6 ft high. Thewalls and other partsof therefrigerator take up 20 ft3. Howmany cubic feet are left for food?

A refrigerator has the shape of a recgtangular prism. The volume of a rectangular prims is:


V=Length¨Width\cdot Height

Use the formula above and the given dimenssions to find the volumen of the refrigerator:


\begin{gathered} V=3ft\cdot2.5ft\cdot6ft \\ V=45ft^3 \end{gathered}

Substract the volume take by the walls and other parts of the refrigerator from the total volume to find how many cubic feet are left for food:


45ft^3-20ft^3=25ft^3Then, there are 25 cubic feet left for the food in the refrigerator
