Given the figure of a cylinder:

As shown:

The height of the cylinder = h = 15 cm

The radius of the base = r = 8 cm

We will find the surface area = A

so,


A=2\pi.r^2+2\pi\cdot r\cdot h

substitute with the values of r and h:

Let π = 3.14


\begin{gathered} A=2\cdot3.14\cdot8^2+2\cdot3.14\cdot8\cdot15 \\ A=1155.52 \end{gathered}

so, the answer will be Surface Area = 1,155.52 square cm
