The given points are (-1,2) and (3,-6).

We use the midpoint formula

M=((x_1+x_2)/(2),(y_1+y_2)/(2))

Where,

\begin{gathered} x_1=-1 \\ x_2=3 \\ y_1=2 \\ y_2=-6 \end{gathered}

Replacing all these values, we have

\begin{gathered} M=((-1+3)/(2),(2-6)/(2)) \\ M=((2)/(2),(-4)/(2)) \\ M=(1,-2) \end{gathered}

Therefore, the midpoint is (1,-2).
