\begin{gathered} 4=6-2m \\ \text{Collect all like terms and you have;} \\ 4-6=-2m \\ \text{Note that when a positive number crosses the equality sign} \\ \text{Its value changes to a negative, and its vice versa for a negative number} \\ \text{Therefore when 6 crosses to the left hand side it becomes negative 6} \\ 4-6=-2m \\ -2=-2m \\ \text{Next you divide both sides by -2} \\ (-2)/(-2)=(-2m)/(-2) \\ 1=m \\ \text{Therefore,} \\ m=1 \end{gathered}
