Messing collected 14 bottles and on Saturday she collected 9 more bottles. She took all her bottles to a recycling center where they paid her b. She had to pay the center a fee of .25$. If she left with $3.20 what is the value of b. she was paid for the 23 botthes so what is the cost of eacj bottle after the cost of the fee is collected?

hello

to solve this question, we ave to write out equations for the scenarios

the total number of bottle is

14+9=23

the cost of the bottles is equal to b

23x=b

where x is representing the cost of each bottle

also, we were told she paid $0.25 and she's left with $3.20

let's put that down

3.20=b-0.25

we can solve this and find the value of b

\begin{gathered} 3.20=b-0.25 \\ b=3.20+0.25 \\ b=3.45 \end{gathered}

since we know the value of b, we can easily find the cost of each bottle

\begin{gathered} b=23x \\ x=\cos t\text{ of each bottle} \\ b=\text{the amount she earned} \\ 3.45=23x \\ x=(3.45)/(23) \\ x=0.15 \end{gathered}

from the calculations above, she earned $3.45 from recycling 23 bottles and the cost of each bottle was $0.15
