The sum of the numbers 30 + 24 is 54

The GCF is derived as;

\begin{gathered} 30=2*3*5 \\ 24=2*2*2*3 \\ \text{The factors 2 and 3 are common, hence the GCF is 2}*3=6 \\ \text{Therefore, 54 as a product of the GCF and another sum is} \\ 54=6*9 \end{gathered}

The GCF or the Greatest Common Factor is the factor that is common to 2 or more numbers and the highest of them all. For example for a number like 24, the factors are those numbers that can be divided by 24, hence you have

2 x 2 x 2 x 3
