A rate of change is a rate that describes how one quantity changes in relation to another quantity.

From the graphs, we have the following points: (0,5) and (2,2).


rateofchange=(\Delta y)/(\Delta x)=(5-2)/(0-2)=(3)/(-2)=-1.5
