eliminating the decimals we can multiply both numbers by ten then we have:

`(2.4)/(80)\cdot(10)/(10)=(24)/(800)`

Now we reduced the fraction to its simplest form:

`(24)/(800)=(6)/(200)=(3)/(100)`

Hence the division is equivalent to:

`(3)/(100)`

But we know that if we divided any number by a multiple of 10 the answer is the numerator put in the corresponding decimal place that the denominator tells us; in this case the hundreth place; therefore the answer is:
