\begin{gathered} \text{Given} \\ (5)/(6)/-(9)/(8) \end{gathered}

Recall that division of fractions is the same as multiplying the divident by the reciprocal of the divisor which means that

(5)/(6)/-(9)/(8)\Longrightarrow(5)/(6)*-(8)/(9)

Proceed with the multiplication and we get

\begin{gathered} (5)/(6)*-(8)/(9) \\ =(5)/(6)*-(8)/(9) \\ =(5*-8)/(6*9) \\ =(-40)/(54) \\ \\ \text{reduce the answer to its simplest form} \\ (-40)/(54) \\ =-(20)/(27) \\ \\ \text{Therefore,} \\ (5)/(6)/-(9)/(8)=-(20)/(27) \end{gathered}
