q = -7/2 or 3.5

1) Let's manipulate it algebraically so that we can solve for q.

Cross multiply it:

\begin{gathered} (10)/(2q+8)=10 \\ \\ 10(2q+8)\text{ = 10} \\ 20q\text{ +80= 10} \\ 20q\text{ =10 -80} \\ 20q=\text{ -70} \\ (20q)/(20)=(-70)/(20) \\ q=-(7)/(2)\text{ or -3.5} \end{gathered}

Then distribute the factors, and then subtract 80 from both sides and finally dividing both sides by 20 we have q= 7/2 or 3.5

2) Hence, q is equal to -7/2 or -3.5
