To answer this question we are going to use the rule of three. We know that 60 ounces represents the 100% of the compound and we want to know what percent of the compound is made of copper which is 16 ounces in total, then the rule of three is:


\begin{gathered} 60\rightarrow100 \\ 16\rightarrow x \end{gathered}

Hence:


\begin{gathered} x=(16)/(60)\cdot100 \\ x=26.67 \end{gathered}

Therefore the copper represents 26.67% of the compound.
