Given the following system of linear equations:

2x + 3y = 6

-8x - 12y = -20

To be able to find the solution, we will be applying the Substitution Method.

We get,

2x + 3y = 6

3y = 6 - 2x

3y/3 = (6 - 2x)/3

y = (6 - 2x)/3

Substitute the y variable of -8x - 12y = -20 by y = (6 - 2x)/3.
