27=3x-3(6-2x)

distribute the 3 in the parentheses


27=3x-18+6x

simplify common factors


27=9x-18

add 18 on both sides and simplify


\begin{gathered} 27+18=9x-18+18 \\ 45=9x \end{gathered}

divide by 9 on both sides


\begin{gathered} (45)/(9)=x \\ 5=x \end{gathered}
