$side*side = (1)/(2)b*h\\\\\\x*x=(1)/(2)*(x+1)(x+2)\\x^(2)=(1)/(2)[x*x +x*2+1*x+1*2]\\\\\\x^(2)=(1)/(2)[x^(2)+2x+x+2]\\\\\\x^(2)=(1)/(2)[x^(2)+3x+2]\\\\\\Multiply \ both \ sides \ by \ 2\\\\2x^(2)=x^(2)+3x+2\\\\2x^(2)-x^(2)-3x-2 = 0$

x² - 3x - 2 = 0
