\begin{gathered} \text{ To calculate the slope of the line, always remember rise over run, rise refers to }y, \\ \text{and run refers to x and use the equation below} \\ m=\frac{y_2-y_1_{}}{x_2-x_1_{}} \\ m=(3-(-5))/(4-0)=(8)/(4)=2 \\ \text{you can also do it the other way} \\ m=(-5-3)/(0-4)=(-8)/(-4)=2 \\ so\text{ the slope is 2} \end{gathered}
