A cars engine supplies 6445 N A force to get a car going. If the car is mass is 1040 kg what is the cars acceleration round to the nearest tenth

Newton's second law relates the force with the mass and the acceleration in the following way:


F=ma

In this case the force is 6445 N and the mass is 1040 kg, plugging these values in the equation above and solving for a we have:


\begin{gathered} 1040a=6445 \\ a=(6445)/(1040) \\ a=6.2 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the acceleration of the car is 6.2 meters per second per second.
