if train A travels for t hours

and meets train B which will have been traveling for t - 2 hours

Train A Train B

Time (hour) t t - 2

distance traveled: 45 x t = 75(t-2)

so,

45t = 75t - 150

collecting like terms

75t - 45t = 150

30t = 150

making t subject of formular by dividing both sides by 30

30t/30 = 150/30

t = 150/30

t = 5

so they will meet after 5hours

antd the point away from the station that they will meet will be

= 45 x 5

= 225km
