Given, both the angles are congruent. So we simply equate the expressions for the angles and solve for x.

Shown below:

$\begin{gathered} 8x-34=5x+2 \\ 8x-5x=34+2 \\ 3x=36 \\ x=(36)/(3) \\ x=12 \end{gathered}$
