The equation for x by using bthe pythagoras theorem is,

\begin{gathered} (3.7)^2+x^2=(14.3)^2 \\ x^2=204.49-13.69 \\ x=\sqrt[]{190.8} \\ =13.81 \end{gathered}

The value of x is 13.81 ft. Option B is correct.
