Functions

We want to find g(2) if

g(x)=3x^2-3x+2

In other words, we must find the value of the equation when x = 2.

STEP 1

In order to do that we just replace all the x by 2:

\begin{gathered} g(x)=3x^2-3x+2 \\ \downarrow\text{ when x=2} \\ g(2)=3\cdot2^2-3\cdot2+2 \end{gathered}

STEP 2

Now, we just solve the operation:

\begin{gathered} g(2)=3\cdot2^2-3\cdot2+2 \\ \downarrow\text{ since }3\cdot2^2=3\cdot2\cdot2=12\text{ and }3\cdot2=6 \\ g(2)=12-6+2 \\ g(2)=8 \end{gathered}

Answer: g(2) = 8
