Let's x the number of chocolate cupcakes and y the number of vanilla cupcakes.

Based on the given information, you can write:

x + y = 25 the total number of cupcakes is 25

y/x = 3/2 the proportion between vanilla and chocolate cupcakes is 3/2

In order to determine the values of x and y, proceed as follow:

Solve for y in the second equation:

y = 3/2*x

Replace the previous expression into the first equation and solve for x:

x + 3/2 x = 25

5/2 x = 25

x = 25(2/5)

x = 10

Now, replace the previous value of x into the expression y = 3/2 x

y = 3/2 * 10 = 30/2 = 15

Hence, there are 10 chocolate cupcakes and 15 vanilla cupcakes
