the equation of line

y = -2x - 4

slope of the above line is

y = mx + c

m = - 2 on comparing both,

for parallel line

the slope will be equal, and the line will be pass through (2 , -5).

y -(-5) = m (x - 2)

y + 5 = -2(x - 2)

y + 5 = -2x +4

y +2x +5 -4 = 0

so the equation of new line is

y+2x+1 = 0

or

y = -2x - 1
