Opposite event rule: The probability that event A happens is equal to 1 (100%) minus the probability that A doesn't happens.

In the given case event A is he doest NOT make his next free throw shot.

And the probability that event A doesn't happen is the given probability 86%.

Then, the probability that he doest NOT make his next free throw shot is: 14%


P(A)=100-86=14
