The formula for determining slope is expressed as

Slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

Where

y2 and y1 are final and initial values of y

x2 and x1 are final and initial values of x

From the information given,

x1 = 3, y1 = - 5

x2 = - 3, y2 = 7

Slope = (7 - - 5)/(- 3 - 3) = 12/-6

Slope = - 2
