Since he will earn $10,000 in the first year

Since he will earn $500 more each year

Then it is an arithmetic sequence

The rule of the arithmetic sequence is

a_n=a+(n-1)d

a is the initial amount (10,000)

d is the constant increasing (500)

n is the time (6)

Substitute the values of a, d, and n in the explicit formula above to find how much he will earn in the 6th year

\begin{gathered} a_6=10,000+(6-1)500 \\ \\ a_6=10,000+(5)500 \\ \\ a_6=10,000+2500 \\ \\ a_6=12,500 \end{gathered}

The answer is $12,500

The answer is the 2nd choice
