The two symbols that represents inequalities are < and >. The first one is know as less than, while the second is know as greater than.
The symbol less than(<) represents that the number on the left side of the inequality is smaller than the number on the right side

Back to our problem, Janet finished the race in 66 minutes and Molly finished ahead of Janet, with a faster time.
